The 2014 Alabama National Archery in the Schools Program(NASP) State Championship is in the books and over 1,250 students participated. Student archers ranged from grade three through 12. The event, which was held at the Cramton Bowl on April 11th, gave archers an opportunity to compete for the state title and a chance to shoot in the NASP National Championship in May.

The NASP program is the product of collaboration between the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Alabama Department of Education. Student archers shoot with Genesis bows.  Archery is a lifelong skill that teaches discipline and concentration. Scoring is based on the Olympic system and archers compete in three different divisions; elementary, middle school, and high school. Scoring is tabulated both as a team and an individual basis.
