Kansas Archery In The Schools Program 2014 State Tournament Results

by Chris Larsen

The scores are in for the Kansas Archery In The Schools Program 2014 State Tournament. YouthArcherySupply.com has you covered with a full report.

320 archers from dozens of Kansas schools recently competed in the Kansas Archery In The Schools Program 2014 State Tournament at Clearwater High School near Wichita. Three teams and 60 individual archers have qualified to compete at the national level. The National Archery In the Schools tournament is set for May 9th and 10th in Louisville, Kentucky.

Archers shoot targets at 10 and 15 meters with a Genesis bow. A score of 300 is perfect with scores of 10 on each of the 30 total arrows each archer shoots. Boys and girls from elementary, middle, and high schools compete. We’re proud to announce that Kansas’ top scoring archer this year was a girl. She’s also a middle schooler. With high school students competing, although in a different division, we rarely see middle school archers take the top score. At YouthArcherySupply.com, we get to work with a lot of talented young archers and we’re seeing more and more awesome female archers. Congrats to Tatyana Miner on earning top overall honors at the state shoot.

Individual winners in each grade division are as follows:

Avery Schill, 264, Clearwater Elementary

Tatyana Miner, 278, Clearwater Middle School *Top overall score, top female score

Amber Asbury, 266, Clearwater High School

Richard Wolf, 260, Clearwater Elementary

Daniel Schule, 274, Clearwater Middle School

Kyle Reed, 277, Clearwater High School *Top male score
